In 2002 I founded Carrera because I believed recruitment could be done better. Not faster. Better.
I'd worked in the industries and roles I was recruiting for. I knew what good looked like from the inside. And I'd seen first-hand what it cost a business — in time, money and momentum — when the wrong person was in a critical role.
So I built a firm that would do it differently. Founder-led. Deeply invested. Built on long-term relationships rather than quick transactions.
Over 20+ years, what I do has grown well beyond recruitment. Today I work with business leaders across three interconnected areas — because I've learned that finding the right person is only the beginning. What happens next determines whether that investment pays off.
ATTRACT — Recruitment & Executive Search I connect exceptional commercial talent with the businesses that need them. I take the time to truly understand both sides — the business strategy, the culture, the gaps — and I'm known for seeing opportunities that others miss. I ask the difficult questions, challenge briefs when they need challenging, and tell clients what they need to hear rather than what they want to hear. Many of my client relationships span 20+ years.
ENGAGE — Employee Engagement & Talent Management Through Carrera's consulting practice, I help businesses build the people strategies, structures and programs that turn good hires into high-performing teams. Engagement, capability, culture — the infrastructure that makes talent stick and perform.
DEVELOP — Leadership Development & Executive Coaching I'm a coach and facilitator at heart. I work with leaders at all levels — from emerging managers finding their feet to senior executives navigating complex organisational challenges. I've helped people see potential in themselves they hadn't yet recognised, and helped leadership teams unlock the collective capability and cohesion that drives real business performance.
Beyond the brief — Some of my most valued client relationships don't fit neatly into a service description. I facilitate leadership planning days and company retreats — particularly where an experienced, commercially grounded external voice adds something the internal team can't. I also sit on the advisory boards of a small number of businesses at genuine inflection points, where ongoing strategic input is more valuable than a defined project. These aren't engagements I take on broadly — but for the right client relationship, they're some of the most rewarding work I do.
That strategic lens informs everything else I do at Carrera too: I'm never just thinking about the role or program in front of me. I'm thinking about the business five years from now.
Outside of work I'm a busy dad, a committed community contributor, and a competitive tennis player who takes the game far too seriously.
If you're building a business and want a partner who'll think strategically, challenge you constructively, and stay with you for the long term — let's talk.
